LangChain

Framework for composing language models with retrieval, tools and memory.

framework LLM Frameworks MIT 23 relationships

Overview

LangChain is a framework for building applications around language models by composing reusable pieces: prompt templates, model wrappers, retrievers, vector store integrations and tool calls. It solves the problem that a useful LLM application is a pipeline, and wiring each pipeline by hand produces bespoke, untestable glue code. It exists because the same few patterns - retrieval, tool use, conversation state - recur in almost every application, and an integration layer makes them portable across providers.
