Overview
Tree of Thoughts treats reasoning as a search: it proposes several intermediate steps, evaluates how promising each is, and explores the better branches. It solves the problem that a single left-to-right chain commits to its first mistake. It exists because some problems need backtracking, and the cost is that it multiplies the model calls a question requires.
